Herpes transmission occurs when one herpes infected person transmits the herpes virus to someone else. Herpes transmission is most likely to occur when a herpes infected person is in an outbreak. Research has demonstrated however that herpes can be spread even when an outbreak is not visible. This is said to occur through asymptomatic shedding of the herpes virus. Herpes transmission occurs through skin-to-skin contact.
